The Global Chalkboard is an innovative and flexible teaching tool that uses the Internet for learning. The Global Chalkboard provides immediate access to educational Web sites and builds Web-enriched lessons mapped to curriculum goals and state standards.

The Global Chalkboard is both flexible and easy to use. It offers a novice user immediate access to educational sites with the Web Library; it offers an intermediate user ready-to-use online lessons by using prepackaged BASCOM lessons; and it offers an advanced user a method of building their own, Web-based lessons using the Lesson Creator.

Imagine using the Internet as if it were a textbook!

The demonstrations below show the Global Chalkboard from two perspectives: the student and the teacher.*

The Global Chalkboard 5.0 Student's Experience (Online Demo)
This demo shows the end result, or student experience, of using Student Start Pages to complete an exercise. A Student Start Page is the online assignment sheet created when a teacher builds a lesson.

The Global Chalkboard 5.0 Teacher's Experience (Online Demo)
This demo shows you how a teacher creates an online lesson and builds a Student Start Page.

  2. The Global Chalkboard; ALIGNS the Internet to your instructional goals; your students are provided with an appropriate amount of Internet access for their lesson.
